Top-Notch Sewer Lining Services

In the past, sewer pipe repairs were often a dreaded process for many homeowners, requiring heavy machinery and large labor crews to dig up landscaping and driveways in order to expose the pipes for repair.

This traditional method, now replaced by our reline sewer pipe service, was quite extensive and could often affect the home, driveway and sidewalk, making it a time-consuming and expensive process.

We are proud to have moved away from this invasive process in favor of a new and improved repair process that will keep your home and property intact for the entirety of our visit.

Sewer pipe lining is a trenchless sewer pipe repair method, and at Bob Oates, our team is expertly trained to employ this solution with precision.

Sewer lining, also known as cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, relies on renewing the pipe from the inside, serving as a no-dig solution, keeping the entire repair underground.

The process is minimally invasive and eco-friendly, and without upheaving your landscaping, we can restore your faulty sewer pipe within a single day, saving you time and money.

How the Sewer Lining Process Works

At Bob Oates, the process of sewer lining begins with the use of our sewer camera inspection. The sewer camera inspection is a very cost-effective and speedy way to determine the exact problem within the current pipe.

The waterproof robotic camera and its optic cable are inserted into the pipeline from an existing entry point such as a drain or an outside access cap (i.e. sewer cleanout). The camera records the inside circumference of the entire pipe, from the building to the curbside municipal sewer connection.

The technician gets a real-time look at the entirety of the pipe and can determine where any cracks exist and if the pipe interior requires cleaning before the liner is applied.

If sewer lining is recommended as the ideal solution, the pipe will need to be cleaned in order for the lining to be successful. To achieve this, we clean the pipes through hydro jetting, a high-pressure water flush that scours the pipe and effectively removes corrosion and waste accumulation. The end result is a smooth pipe interior upon which the epoxy resin lining will adhere and cure.

The CIPP lining consists of a felt tube coated with specialty epoxy resin and an inflation bladder. Once it is determined that the lining is situated in the correct spot, the bladder is inflated. The inflation of the tube presses the resin against the inside of the original pipe. The tube is left inflated for a few hours, allowing the resin to cure and harden.

Once the hardening is completed, the tube and the inflation bladder are removed. What is left behind is a smooth new pipe that is resistant to corrosion and tree root penetration, installed without any extensive digging required to provide access to it.

Is It Time to Look Into Sewer Pipe Lining Companies Near Me?

Sewer pipe lining is a long-term investment for your home. While many homeowners may look at the initial sewer pipe lining cost and decide against it, investing in sewer relining is still far more cost-effective and less intrusive than digging up and replacing a damaged or root infested pipe.

We believe in doing everything possible to avert a plumbing disaster that could damage your property’s foundations and landscaping. Deciding to reline a sewer pipe will save you money and provide peace of mind.

FAQs About Sewer Pipe Lining Services

What is sewer pipe lining?

Sewer pipe lining, also called cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), installs a resin-saturated liner inside the existing pipe. Once cured, it creates a new, durable pipe within the old one.

When is pipe lining a good option?

It works well for pipes with cracks, root intrusion, or corrosion but that still hold their basic shape. If the pipe has collapsed or shifted significantly, excavation may be needed instead.

How long does a lined pipe last?

A properly installed liner is designed to last decades, often 50 years or more, depending on soil conditions and water chemistry.

Does sewer lining require digging?

No long trenches are needed — only small access points. That means minimal impact on landscaping, driveways, and sidewalks compared to traditional excavation.

Is pipe lining approved for Seattle side sewers?

Yes, pipe lining is an accepted method when conditions allow. Permits are typically required, and we handle the process with the City of Seattle.
